Painted on Monhegan Island, Maine during a recent family vacation. I spent about 2 hours en plein air with the initial composition, then got rained out and had to retreat to the studio, where I spent another hour working from a reference photo to finish it off. Varnished it shortly after returning to Boston, then photographed it.
